  9. ¹I  have  read quite a lot of articles
  10. lately   dealing   with   the  stamps
  11. subject.   I  have  been dealing with
  12. the  subject  for  quite a long time,
  13. and I now have the facts.
  14. There  are  plenty of methods, which,
  15. depending on the country, are more or
  16. less  effective.   The  basis is that
  17. you  don't pay for your stamps, or at
  18. least,  that  you don't spend so much
  19. money on stamps.
  20.  
  21. ²a)  Sello  tape:¹   one of the lamest.
  22. Take  a  Scotch  Magic roll, and wrap
  23. your   stamp  with  it.   It  usually
  24. works,  and  stamps  are more or less
  25. everlasting.   It's  really  easy  to
  26. detect,  and well, I wouldn't use it,
  27. unless  you're  living  in a very big
  28. city   without   electronic   sorting
  29. facilities.

  31. ²b)Nail  enamel: ¹ This is quite a good
  32. one.   Cover  your  stamp  with  nail
  33. enamel.   When it's nearly dry, press
  34. it  agains your hand.  With the small
  35. wrinkles  there,  you  will  print  a
  36. pattern   on   the  cover  that  will
  37. disguise  the otherwise bright stamp.
  38. Do  not apply too much:  a little bit
  39. is more than enough, but make sure it
  40. covers everything.

  43. ¶²c)Glue: ¹  Similar  to  b.  Instead of
  44. nail  enamel,  use  some kind of glue
  45. stick,  such  as Uhu, or Pelikan.  As
  46. this  isn't bright, you won't need to
  47. press  your  hand  against  it.  Take
  48. care,  as sometimes the glue is still
  49. sticky  when  dried.  I have received
  50. letters with pieces of paper stuck on
  51. the  stamp,  and that should be quite
  52. evident.

  54. ²d)Plastifying:¹   OK, this is a simple
  55. one, but quite expensive.  It's not a
  56. very  good  one, but it sortta works.
  57. Combine  with  some other method, and
  58. the  effect  should  be great.  Buy a
  59. plastifying  card,  place  the  stamp
  60. inside,  and iron it.  There you are.
  61. Cut  out  the  excess of plastic, and
  62. apply  something  to  add  realism to
  63. your artwork.

  65. ²e)Spraying:  ¹Some kind of plastifying
  66. spray.   I  don't know much about it,
  67. because  it's  unavailible  in Spain.
  68. Anyway, if you know something, let me
  69. know.

  71. ²f)Cream: ¹  Use  Eric Clapton instead,
  72. HUH?   Just  some  kind  of paranoia.
  73. Good,  go to a chemist's, and ask for
  74. a  gel for your spots.  Tell the lady
  75. to  give you some kind of transparent
  76. one.   In Spain, we have one which is
  77. wonderful, nobody will notice it.  If
  78. you find it, apply a VERY THIN layer,
  79. otherwise,  a  whiteish  plaster will
  80. form,  and  your stamp will be ruined
  81. for  ever.   It's  my favorite, given
  82. that a 500 Pts.  tube (4.50 Us$) will
  83. ¶last for at least one or two years!

  85. ²g)Pamphlet:¹    You   know,  everybody
  86. receives   them,  those  mail  offers
  87. which  come with a "post today to get
  88. the  free gift" envelope, and instead
  89. of a stamp have a "Port paid" thingy.
  90. OK,   insead   of  the  name  of  the
  91. company,   get  your  correspondent's
  92. address,  and  there you are.  A good
  93. way  to  get  'em is to write to Time
  94. magazine, Newsweek or any of these in
  95. order  to  get  information.  I get a
  96. couple  of this envelopes every week.
  97. You  may also cut out the "port paid"
  98. sign and stick it onto your envelope.

  100. ²h)Belfo-system: ¹   Okay,  write  your
  101. correspondent's  address  in as if it
  102. was  the  sender.   Then,  write your
  103. name   and   address   in  the  place
  104. provided   for   the  correspondent's
  105. address.   Alternatively,  write your
  106. correspondent's   address   in   both
  107. places.   Of course, do NEVER place a
  108. stamp on these letters.  And, realize
  109. that,  obviously,  this  method won't
  110. work         for        international
  111. correspondence.

  113. When  your  contact  sends the stamps
  114. back,  you  must recover them.  Do as
  115. follows:
  116.  
  117. ²-Methods A-F:¹  Cut out the stamp from
  118. the  envelope,  keeping a small frame
  119. around  the  stamp.   Place it in hot
  120. water,  and gently rub the stamp.  In
  121. about five minutes, your stamp should
  122. be  clean  again,  and unstuck of the
  123. ¶piece  of envelope.  Place, then onto
  124. a glass surface, such as a window, in
  125. order to dry.

  127. ²-Methods G & H:¹  What did you expect?
  128. You won't get'em back, man.
  129.  
  130. ¼Personally,  the  method I use is the
  131. following:    
  132. ¹-I  buy  one  of  the cheapest stamps
  133. around 
  134. -I  place  some sellotape ON the BACK
  135. of  the stamp, in order to strenghten
  136. it  a  bit.  
  137. -I   apply   my  Cream  on  top  
  138. -And  sometimes,  inside  the  square
  139. with our "beloved" king, I apply some
  140. Scotch  Magic  too.   Over  it,  more
  141. Cream (with Eric Clapton..)

  143.     
  144. You  won't  have  any problems if you
  145. follow  this  last method.  I've used
  146. stamps  faked like this for around 10
  147. times, and they are still working.
  148. And,  if by any reason, you'd like to

  151. stamp  faking, or whatever, feel free
